Natural Swimming Pools

Growing awareness of environmental problems is encouraging the search for eco-friendly solutions. Ofra-Hydros offers an advanced swimming pool purification method based on natural processes enhanced by cutting edge technology and the latest scientific developments.

The prototype of Natural Swimming Pools appeared in Europe as early as 1980. Using the know-how and experience of the parent company, "Ofra Aqua Plants" (a company specializing in water plants for over 20 years), the purification system was upgraded and adapted to the climate and water conditions in Israel.

The system has several modules which improve the water quality. The swimming pool is a combination of two areas – a swimming area and a biological filter. The biological filter consists of a Constructed Wetland and Bio-Mechanical filters. Pro-biotic bacteria colonize the biological filters and the rizosphere, reducing the organic matter. The basic matter created by the micro-organisms is then absorbed or volatilized by the water plants. The result is a swimming experience matching a natural spring, in clear, healthy, chlorine-free water.
